Robert LeRoy Milner

1-23-28 to 6-9-15

Robert was born in Clayton Kansas to Clifford and Esther Milner.  He is preceded in death by his two sisters, Joan Dunkley(Clarence Dunkley) , Jerry Wyatt and his beloved daughter Mary Margret Daniels-Milner.

Robert met his soon to be wife in 1950, but was then drafted in November and served 2 years in Germany with the Army.  He then married JoAnn Schultz on November 29, 1952 in Hanover Kansas and started a family in Clayton Kansas, where Mary, John, Trish, Rich, Ed, Greg, Melinda, Annette and Janis were born.  Robert made his living as a farmer until he made the decision to move to Paonia, Colorado in 1970 where the last Milner, Mark was born.

Robert and his sons built their log home in 1984, which they continued to live in.  Robert and JoAnn watched their children grow up in the Grand Valley and were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  All the grand children and great grandchildren can contest to the little things he liked to do from putting golf balls in their shoes to telling them tall tell stories.

Robert was a hardworking man who to the very end, never sat idle for very long.  He is known for his great sense of humor, his orneriness and compassion for others.  He believed in helping those in need and expected nothing in return.  He was a friend to many and enemy to none.

Robert lost the battle to esophageal cancer at Hope West in Grand Junction as his family stood by his side.  He was 87 years old and will be missed dearly.
