Robert Lee Young, Sr., 69, of Middletown, husband of the late Mary Lee (Graham) Young, passed away on Tuesday, July 12th at Aurora Senior Living of Cromwell. Born in Eufaula, AL, he was the son of the late Jack and Rachel (Ferguson) Young. Robert lived in Middletown for the past fifty years and drove trucks for many years with his handle being “Sugar Bear.” He loved to cook, enjoyed a good meal, loved fishing, hunting, motorcycles and snowmobiling. Robert was a gentle giant who was kind and respectful and loved talking to people.
He is survived by his son, Robert Lee Young, Jr. of Portland, OR; five daughters, Dora Young of Middletown, Adrienne Young of Middletown, Michelle Chambers of Webb, AL, Latasha Green of Hartford and Lisa Bostick of Florence, SC; two brothers, Charles Young and his wife, Doris and Moses Young, all of White Plains, NY; a sister, Elsie Moses of Cincinnati, OH; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a very special friend, Keith Perry of Middletown.
