On August 2, 1935, the Lord blessed a young couple, Earl and Harriet Kelly (both deceased) with the birth of their second son, Robert Lee Kelly. Eighty years later on December 29, 2015, our Lord and Savior called home one of His own. Robert and his siblings were raised in the church and would walk to Locust United Methodist every Sunday. It was very important to his mother that her children were in church every Sunday. He loved his church and has always attended regularly especially on the first Sunday he looked forward to being served communion.
Opie, as he was affectionately called received his early education in the Howard County Public school system, he attended Harriet Tubman High School. Opie was a hard worker. He was employed by Laurel Van Lines and Giant Foods, Inc. prior to becoming self-employed.
