Robert Lee “Butch” Leeson of Summit Park passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at his residence with family by his side. He was born March 4, 1942 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of the late Eli B. and Flossie E. (Ancell) Leeson.
Butch graduated from Victory High School, Class of 1960. He retired from the Harrison County Commission in 2006 as a supervisor of the Harrison County Garage. He was a dedicated husband, dad and grandpa and enjoyed watching his kids and grandkids in various sports and theater events. He loved family beach vacations and Sunday drives with his wife.
Butch is survived by his wife, Donna E. (Martin) Leeson, of 57 years, married his first and only love since third grade on September 9, 1961; one son, Billy L. Leeson and wife Cathy Colombo Leeson, Charlotte, NC; one daughter Bobbi Jo (Leeson) Schorr and husband Leonard, Summit Park; his precious and loving grandchildren, Nicholas B. Leeson and wife Jessica, Campinas, Brazil, Kaylee A. Leeson, Charlotte, NC and Abby Schorr, Summit Park; his great grandchildren, Tanner Leeson, Charlotte, NC, Brooks Leeson, Campinas, Brazil; two brothers, Bernard Leeson and wife Mildred, Jack Leeson and wife Doris, all SC; one sister, Betty J. Hinzman and husband Denver, Bridgeport; brother-in-laws and sister-in-law, Billy P. Martin and wife Rachel, Cleveland, TN, Doris “Dukey” Tanzey and husband Bill, Charleston, WV, Gary Parker of Summit Park, and Asbury A. Carpenter, Clarksburg; special nephews, Hal Leeson and Mike Hinzman; close family friend, Rod Taylor; several nieces and nephews; his four legged companion, Fletcher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Sally Leeson; three brothers, John Leeson, Ted Leeson, and Virgil Leeson; brother-in-law, Charles “Chuck” Carpenter; sister-in-law, Peggy Parker, one niece, Sherry Leeson.
