Obituary of Robert L. Redding
REDDING, Robert L. of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of San Antonio, Texas passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at HealthSource of Saginaw. He was 79 years old. Robert Lynn Redding was born on September 25, 1936 in Mitchell, Indiana to the late Irvie and Marquerite (Kendell) Redding. He married Norene “Beth” Hecht on June 1, 1967 in Albuquerque, New Mexico; she survives him. Bob graduated from Mitchell High School with the Class of 1954. After graduation, Bob attended college, but ultimately decided to spend 28 years in the United Stated Air Force and obtained the highest enlisted rank of CMSgt. While honorably serving, he was a Systems Analysist, and traveled, but not exclusively, to California, England, Vietnam (Bronze Star), and Korea. After retiring from the USAF in 1980, he continued to work for the government as a Systems Analysist contractor in Atlanta, Georgia until his second retirement in 1998. He enjoyed Norte Dame football and basketball—everything Norte Dame. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Beth; seven children: twins, Valerie and Daryl Redding, Cheryl (Les) Noel, Robyn Brandon, Robert Redding II, Lori Scharich, and Lee (Kathryn) Scharich; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marvin Redding.
