Robert L. Powell, of Rockford, formerly of Freeport, died Tuesday, June 29, 2004, at Wesley Willows in Rockford. Born February 25, 1926 in Knox, Pa he was the son of Amos and Mary Louise (Boyd) Powell. He married Thelma McIntyre January 12, 1952.
He was an Insurance Agent for almost 30 years.He was a US Navy World War II and Korean Conflict veteran. His memberships included Excelsior Masonic Lodge, Yorkrite, and White Shrine. Surviving are his wife of Rockford; son, Howard Powell of Freeport; daughters, Barbara (Paul) Taylor of Esmond and Linda Ditsler of Southern Illinois; 5 grandchildren; 1 great grandchildren His parents; 1 brother; 1 sister preceded him in death.
