Robert L. Ogden

Robert L. (Bob) Ogden died peacefully, at home, on Saturday, April 14, 2018, he was 85 years old.

Bob was born on September 19, 1932 in Bethany, Oklahoma to Ivan and Thelma (Brown) Ogden, the third oldest of seven children. Having moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma at a young age, Bob graduated from Daniel Webster High School in 1952. Shortly after graduation, and before “Uncle Sam” could come calling, Bob enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was stationed in Korea from 1952 to 1954.

While in Korea, he began writing letters to the beautiful girl that had caught his eye before he left. Upon his return, he renewed his acquaintance, and on January 14, 1955, he married the love of his life, Dorothy Smith. Bob and Dorothy were married 63 years, 3 months at the time of his passing.

After his stint in the Army, Bob worked steadily, while also attending night school to complete college courses. Every job change was a chance to better himself. From Oklahoma, where daughter, Vicki, was born in 1956, to Nevada, where son, Rusty, was born in 1960, back to Oklahoma, to California, and finally to Colorado. Bob and Dorothy, and their children, moved to Littleton, Colorado in 1970. Bob retired in 1994.

Bob loved learning to ski, watching OU and Denver Broncos football. He adored his children, and loved going to their school events, especially Friday night football games at Littleton High School, where Vicki cheered, and Rusty played. He loved watching Rusty play baseball, and even coached a team or two. He watched with great pride when his grandchildren involved themselves in numerous activities as well. Later, Bob really enjoyed watching the Rockies play baseball from the comfort of his family room on his big screen TV.

Bob is survived by his wife, Dorothy, his daughter, Vicki (Rick) Neville, and son, Rusty (Kelly) Ogden. Six Grandchildren Heidi Bartsch (Todd Melin), Shana (Antonio) Pasquarelli, Nichole (Bert) Garcia, Chase (Sharon) Ogden, Brandon (Shannon Crane) Miller, Ryan Ogden, and 12 Great Grandchildren Cylest Garcia, Haleigh Garcia, Ethan Bartsch, Tristen Ogden, Adam Garcia, Zowie Wiegel, Joseph Garcia, Talon Melin, Cassandra Garcia, Yarrow Melin, Easton Miller, and RC Ogden III. Also survived by sister Julia Rogers and brother Wayne (Toni) Ogden, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, and brothers Gene, Roy, Charlie and Jim.

The family would like to thank the wonderful Hospice team from Namaste Home Health Hospice for their loving care and support, and also, our precious caregiver, Kandeeka, from All Valley Home Care, who was with Bob when he passed.
