Bob passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the age of 71 at Borgess Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. He was born on April 7, 1945 in Detroit to the late Peter and Helen (Bojorean) Kelber. He graduated from Lawrence Technological University with his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1967.
He worked at Detroit Edison (now DTE Energy) for 28 years and at Consumers Energy in Kalamazoo for 17 years. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Koeppe, on April 28, 1984. The other two best days of his life were when his girls, Laura and Natalie, were born. He had an unbelievable and gentle love for his girls. He also had a love for Harley Davidson motorcycles, fixing up old cars, golf, the Detroit Tigers, and computers.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Kelber; children Laura and Natalie Kelber; brother Peter (Karen) Kelber; sister-in-law Carolyn (Tink) Babcock; brother-in-law Richard (Bonnie) Koeppe; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
