Robert Lee Horton was born on February 28, 1930 in Yantley, Alabama to the late Joe and Elvira Marsh Horton. He graduated from Choctaw County Training School and later furthered his education at Alabama A&M University.
A veteran of the Korean War where he earned the Purple Heart Medal. He was an outstanding serviceman who was discharged honorably. The flag that will be given to his family, will be given gratefully by the nation for his meritorious service to his country in time of war.
He later moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan to work as a Construction Engineer and retired from Amtrak Transportation Corporation. Then he later moved back to his hometown to be with his family in Yantley, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elvira Marsh Horton; his sister, Josephine Horton, and his younger sister, Clozell Horton Willis (late Thomas).
