Robert “Bob” L. Hersberger, 78, Anderson, died October 23, 2005 at his residence. He was born June 5, 1927 in Lapel, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana all of his life.
He retired in 1982 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 38 1/2 years of service. He was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School.
He served his country in the US Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a member of the UAW Local #662 and American Legion #127. He was an avid NASCAR and sports fan.
He is survived by his two stepsons: Robert L. Caplinger and Stephen E. Caplinger. Five stepdaughters: Betty J. Salazar, Shirley A. McCord, Linda S. Pilkington, Sandy K. Daum and Cynthia L. Mann. Two Brothers: Russell & wife Patty Hersberger and Roy Hersberger. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife whom he married September 2, 1972: Louise Hersberger. Parents: Guy & Ressie Martin Hersberger. Three brothers and one sister.
