Robert “RL” Louis Fendley, age 91, passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022 due to heart failure at Gold City Convalescent Home in Dahlonega, Georgia. He was born on Friday, February 13, 1931, Wilkes County, Georgia to Fannie Mae Fendley and Emery Fendley.
RL was a cherished and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather with a powerful belief in family and faith. RL was known for his generosity and strong work ethic as a carpenter and builder. He developed numerous hotels and properties throughout Georgia while teaching and mentoring others along the way. RL was an avid gardener with a green thumb which he passed along to his kids and grand kids always sharing the bounty with others. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his 4 wheeler and most outdoor activities with many evenings ending with RL and Mary sitting on the swing by the lake.
In recent years, RL became Mary’s primary caregiver and no one could ever care more. RL’s passion in life was his wife, children, grandchildren and family. He was a man in this world that gave much more than he took and many people are better off today because of his generosity.
The world will never know as his family does what a loving, generous, caring and great man he was.
