Robert L. Drury, age 85, of Crossville, TN and formerly of Fairmount, IN , died June 15, 2011, at his Residence Bob was the son of the late Clinton Drury and the late Pearl H. (Reed) Drury.
He was born in Henriette, MN on May 4, 1926. He graduated from Frankfort High School. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. Bob owned and operated Chism Corner, Swayzee for 10 years. He had also been employed by Driskills Market, Chantcleer Restaurant, Upland and Fox Fire Restaurant of Muncie for Don Marsh. Bob was acitve in the Fairmount Community where he served on the Fairmount Town Council for 2 Terms. He served on the Committee that Raised funds and designed the Veterans Memorial at Park Cemetery. He was two time President, 2 time Vice President and Secretary of the Fairmount Lions Club and a member of the American Legion Post 313, Fairmount. Bob was a great cook, loved fishing, the Colts and taking his dog princess for Sunday Rides. Bob is survived by his wife Linda K. (Thatcher) Drury. They were married April 14, 1999.
He is also survived by Three Daughters: Joyce (Jack) Nies, Greenwood, IN Brenda (Randy) Vinson, Plantersville, MI Heather (Chris) Gordon, La Vergne, TN One Son: Stephen (Evelyn) Drury, Florissant, MO Two Sisters: Beatrice Vogt, So. St. Paul, MN Ruth Holton, Pine River, MN One Brother: Lloyd Drury, So. St. Paul, MN 4 Grandchildren; Christian Dean Aldrich Andrew James Aldrich Kaylee Marie Aldrich Christopher Gordon.
He was preceded in death by sister brother-in-law Maurice Ode Hibbards.
