Robert Lowell Dodd, 86, of Bridgeport WV passed away Friday, May 20, 2011. Son of the late Rev. Clarence and Martha Richmond Dodd, he was born in Salem, WV. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth A. (Betty) Dodd; his two daughters and their spouses, Dr. Diane Dodd-McCue (Dr. Michael McCue), Richmond, VA, and The Rev. Debra Anne Dodd, (Brad Schide), North Branford, CT; four grandchildren, Carrie MacKenzie Montague, Mary Catherine McCue, Megan Schide, and Cory Schide; three great-grandchildren, Porter, MacKenzie, and Wright Montague; one sister, Mary Dodd Ling, Amhurst, OH; one brother William R. Dodd, Bridgeport, WV, and his wife Shirley. He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Rosemary Kelley Dodd, and by his brothers Paul and Clebert Dodd. Mr. Dodd attended Salem College and Iowa State and served with honors in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. A professional engineer associated with the oil and gas industry, Mr. Dodd worked for Hope Natural Gas, Consolidated Natural Gas, Texas International, and as an independent consultant. Mr. Dodd also served as Deputy Director of the Oil and Gas Division for the West Virginia Department of Mines. While residing in Pineville, WV, he was a member of the Cook Memorial Baptist Church, the Pineville Masonic Lodge # 138 AF&AM, and the city council. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Clarksburg.
