On December 14, 2019, Robert Linn Beam Sr., WW II Navy Veteran, passed away at age 92. A 1945 graduate of Mount St. Joe High School, Mr. Beam was a devout Catholic and member of St. Rose of Lima Church. He was retired from the CSX Railroad where he had worked for 40 years. After he retired, Mr. Beam worked part time in landscaping, and also in maintenance at St. Philip Neri Church in Linthicum. His love for outdoors led him to become an avid cross country bicyclist, traveling all around the country as a member of the Baltimore Bicycling Club. He even mowed his own lawn until he was 88 years old. Pop, as he was affectionately called by all who loved him, had an infectious laugh ! He enjoyed all things Maryland: steamed crabs and beer, corn on the cob, the home teams Ravens and Orioles.
Robert L. Beam was the beloved husband of Lillian M. Beam (nee Stumpf) for 70 years; devoted father of Barbara Lorber and her husband Larry, JoAnn Jackson, Robert Beam, Jr. and his wife Adrienne, Deborah Beam and her companion Earl Watts; loving grandfather of Andrea Goldberg and husband Joseph, Eric Lorber and wife Jennifer, Brett Lorber and Brittany Jackson. He was also blessed with great grandchildren Kevin and Abigail Goldberg and Delaney and Sloane Lorber.
