Mr. Robert K. Jeffery, age 91, of Milford, beloved husband of 69 years to Ruth Doolittle Jeffery, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Regency House, Wallingford.
Son of the late Joseph E. and Augusta Knapp Jeffery, he was born January 30, 1918 in Southport. Robert was a graduate of Hobart College and George Washington University. In the late 1950’s early 1960’s he owned and operated Fairchild Jewelers in Bridgeport, and then for 17 years he worked for DeBeers before his retirement.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his three sons Robert K. Jeffery Jr., of Annedale, Va; William A. Jeffery and his wife Gretchen of Milford, and Jonathan Jeffery and his wife Patricia of Elkton, MD; four grandchildren William Jeffery Jr., and his wife Jennifer, Keith E. Jeffery and his wife Danielle, Joseph Jeffery and his wife Shaun and D’Arcy Jeffery, eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a brother Geoffrey Jeffery of Decatur, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
