Robert Stewart Klump of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022. He was 63. 

Born on May 26, 1959, to Amos and Betty Walcott Klump in Ruidoso, New Mexico, he graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1977 and earned his Master of Science from New Mexico State University in 1986. On Oct. 4, 1997, he married the love of his life, Gaye Coffman Roberts, and became “Pops” to Shiloh and Shane.  

Self-employed as a crop consultant at Klump Agronomics LLC, Robert was passionate about his job and never fully intended to retire. He thoroughly enjoyed his relationships with all of his growers.  

Devoted to his family, Robert was the proud grandfather of what he called the “Fab Five”: Allie, Olivia, Kai, Liam, and Jack. He spent his winters with his family and made frequent trips to their Cedaredge, Colorado, second home, which he referred to as “Cornerstone.” He also loved airplanes especially his Bellanca named “Bella.”  

Robert was transformed by his relationship with Jesus Christ and lived a life that reflected God’s love for us. He was active in the Emmaus ministry and an active member at Turning Point Community Church in Lubbock, TX. He truly knew how to make those around him feel special and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends 

Robert is survived by his wife; daughter Shiloh Roberts Ahearn and her husband, Jon, of Cedaredge, CO; son Shane Roberts and his wife, Sarah, of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren Allie, Kai, and Liam Ahearn of Cedaredge, and Olivia and Jack Roberts of Fort Worth; brother Jim Klump of Alamogordo; and sisters Debbie Coben of Alaska, and Denise Hobson of Tularosa, and their families. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Loretta Klump.
