Robert William Kantowski, age 49 of Berrien Springs, Michigan, son, nephew, cousin, and gentle soul died Thursday morning, June 10, 2021 at Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center in Saint Joseph, Michigan following a brief illness.

He was born on January 30, 1972 in the former Buchanan, Michigan Osteopathic Hospital to Harold L. and Jacqueline L. (Fox) Kantowski, and was graduated from Berrien Springs High School.  He continued his education with courses at Lake Michigan College.  He had served as a private home healthcare provider all of his adult life, and was a lifelong resident of Berrien Springs.

Rob was an avid reader and an accomplished artist.  He was blessed with an artist’s vision and ability, and a desire to share his talent.  His work was usually in acrylic or pencil, and he was quire proficient at reproducing various well-known characters.  He was also skilled in much larger formats including providing theatric backdrops and props for stage plays at Berrien Springs High School, and floats and stages for the Blossomtime Festival.

Through all of these activities, Rob was a kind person for whom caregiving was a natural attribute.  He was a good friend who spoke only good of others – perhaps seeing nothing less.  Time with his family was his greatest priority.

He was preceded in death by his mother, maternal and paternal grandparents, and three cousins.

Surviving family includes his father, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Rob was a member of Saint Gabriel Mission Parish in Berrien Springs.
