Obituary of Robert Kamm
Kamm, Robert “Bob”
Saginaw, Michigan
Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper. He was 95 years old. Robert Kamm was born in Reese, MI on December 24, 1924 to the late Henry and Charlotte (Auernhamer) Kamm. Bob graduated from Reese High School and then proudly served his country during WWII with the United States Army, 246th Armored Division as a Staff Sargent. He was wounded in Germany and was honored with many military awards including a Purple Heart. Upon his return from the service, he married Marjorie C. Laux on June 8, 1946. She preceded him in death on March 2, 1996. He worked for Chevrolet Saginaw Manufacturing, retiring in 1984 after more than 40 years as a Production Superintendent. Bob enjoyed golf, as he would often reminisce about his time with friends at Germania and the Saginaw Country Club. He was also an avid gardener, as witnessed by his yard. His grass and landscaping were always perfectly manicured. Additionally, he was great with his hands and was an acclaimed woodworker. Several of his pieces were on display in his home.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marjorie; three sisters: Lillian French, Marlene Ellen and Darlene Feit; and brother, Wilmer Kamm.
