Died Saturday morning May 21, 2016. Robert was born January 15, 1923 in Jackson, Michigan a son of Kenneth and Florence (Martin) Gray. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Navy. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life and was employed with Welders Supplies and Gases for over 20 years, retiring in 1982. Robert was also a member of Parchment United Methodist Church; and the Otsego American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Barbara Owens; a brother, Richard Gray; and a nephew, Daniel Noppe. On September 4, 1948, he was united in marriage to E. Jean (Hume) Gray who survives. Also surviving, 4 children, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Thomas of Kalamazoo, Janet Rackley of Ft. Myers, FL, and James Gray of Paw Paw, and Douglas Gray of Otsego; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
