Robert (Bob) Joseph Montgomery, 72, passed away at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, on January 29, 2021.
He was born in Xenia Ohio on December 30, 1948, the son of the late William and Mary Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Sharon L. Montgomery and son Gary Lee Montgomery, three brothers David, James, and William Sr. Montgomery, and one sister Mary J. Myers.
He is survived by his loving blended family, son Erik (Rebecca) Montgomery, former daughter-in-law Courtney (Matt) McCowan, Grandkids, Dakota Redman, Abigail, Katlin, Erik ll, and Brayden Montgomery, Wyatt, and Colton Day. Great Grandson Bracken Redman, and sister Betty Dietzel of Georgia. Robert retired from Pizza King then went on to work in home health care. He was a hard-working and loving man.
Robert’s main goal was to see all of his kids and grandkids operate as one big family. He managed to do this for us, by always spending time with us all and getting us all together. He loved his grandkids with all he was. He had a very special relationship with his grandson Erik ll, spending much of his time with him. He served his country in the US Army during Vietnam, reaching the rank of PVT E-4.
