ROBERT JOSEPH MAYFIELD, SR. age 72, passed away on August 5, 2015 at Fairfax Nursing Center in Fairfax, VA. He was born on March 5, 1943 in Springhill, LA to the late Charles Mulkey and Viola (Butts) Mayfield. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran from 1962-1971; after serving our country he continued his service working for 31 years as a Budget Analyst with the Department of the Army. Predeceased by his parents, his wife Charlotte Ann; his daughter Stephanie; five brothers: Charles, Billy, Ronny, Danny and David; and sister in law Sammi. Survivors include two sons: Robert Joseph Mayfield, Jr. (Patricia) of Waynesboro, VA and Christopher James Mayfield (Rachel) of Chambersburg, PA; one daughter: Catherine Yelvington (Tyson) of Manassas, VA; two brothers: Jerry Mayfield (Lynn) of Houston, TX and Huey Mayfield of Springhill, LA; eight grandchildren: Jessica and Veronica Mayfield; Stephanie, Ariana, Ryan and Connor Mayfield; Abigail and Charlotte Yelvington.
