Robert Joseph Brookman, Stumpy”, 68, of Moodus, passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 26, 2016.
Born in Hartford on July 9, 1948, he was a son of Robert H. and Nora A. (Peak) Brookman of Swanzey, NH. Bob was a proud veteran, having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. After which, he worked as a logger and most recently, as the grounds keeper at the Banner Lodge Golf Club in Moodus. Bob was a true outdoorsman, a mountain man at heart. He loved any activity when he was in the company of nature. He was well loved and will be truly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother, Richard Brookman and companion, Donna Mitchell of Moodus, three sisters, Mary Jane and husband Isabelo Punsalan of Deep River, Rose and husband Herb Miller of Swanzey, NH, Lorraine D. Owens of Moodus and numerous extended family and friends.
