Robert Joseph Anuszewski “Bebop”
Robert Joseph Anuszewski, a.k.a. “Bobby Henderson” of Pasadena, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017. He was 81 years old.
Born on June 20, 1936 at home in Wagner’s Point, Baltimore, Maryland to the late Walter Anuszewski and Catherine Anuszewski (nee Dail). He was baptized at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Wagner’s Point on July 05, 1936.
Mr. Anuszewski served in the USMC from October 06, 1953 until October 05, 1961. At the time of his honorable discharge, his rank was Corporal. He was a very patriotic and proud of his military service.
He was employed at the Baltimore Gas & Electric Company as Chief Engineer on tugboats, certified & licensed as a U.S. Marine Merchant through the United States Coast Guard. It was a job that he loved and always had stories to tell. All of his friends and co-workers gave him the nickname of “Bebop” which stuck with him through the years.
After retiring from BGE, Mr. Anuszewski was an Anne Arundel County Constable for several years.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing, martial arts, and going to Burger King, a place which held bittersweet memories from his past. He was infamous for his ability to tell jokes and got great pleasure from making people laugh. Everyone loved his jokes.
He was the member of several organizations and clubs.
Robert Joseph “Bob” Anuszewski is survived by 4 daughters. Rita Mansfield and son-in-law Dave, Catherine “Cathy” Good-Bertram, and son-in-law Jack, Tina DeGiorgio, and Robin Vance. He is also survived by the mother of his 4 daughters, Glory; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, (and counting); and 3 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his youngest sister Maria Nancy Eder, and many nieces & nephews.
Bob was loved by many and will be forever missed.
