Robert John Gambino (Bob) of Orange, CT age 85 died July 27, 2011 after a long illness. Born on May 9, 1926 in Meriden, CT., the son of Ida Galanti and Michael Robert Gambino. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Lorraine Raymond Gambino, by son Robert John Jr. of Glastonbury, CT., by daughter Denise Lee Halstead, son-in-law Russell Halstead and his beloved granddaughter Alexis Lee Halstead of Orange, CT. He was the brother of Gloria DeGray of West Haven, CT. After graduating High School in 1944, Bob enlisted in the Navy during WWII. Obtaining the rank of Seaman First Class, Bob served as an Armed Guard Gunner on ships delivering munitions and supplies to our European Troops before being transferred to the Pacific providing Destroyer Escort.
