BERRY, Robert John passed away on Sunday morning, March 22, 2015, at his home. He was born on October 18, 1930, in Detroit, MI, the son of John and Evelyn Dugal Berry. Bob graduated from St. James High School in Detroit. After graduating, he began working for the National Bank of Detroit NBD/Chase Bank.
In 1951, he was drafted into the United States Army, where he served 2 years, 1951-53, during the Korean Conflict. Following his service in the Army, Bob attended and graduated from the University of Detroit. He also resumed his employment with NBD/Chase Bank, where he remained until his retirement in 1995 from the Portage Branch. On November 16, 1957, he was married to Barbara L. Smith Berry, who survives.
Also, surviving are five children, John Parris Berry, Richard Liz Logan Berry, Cynthia Berry, Sandra Randy Hoeksema, and James Deborah Berry; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Catherine Ron Donner and Barbara Dick Panasuk.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Lawrence Berry.
