Robert Joe DeWaard passed away at home, surrounded by family, on August 12, 2022, he was 81 years old. Bob was born on July 4, 1941 to Joe and Ruth DeWaard, of Meridian Idaho. From a very early age Bob helped work on and helped manage the family dairy, farm lands and ranches. He enjoyed basketball, hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and RV travel. Family was his biggest treasure.
In 1976 he and Dixie moved to Renton Washington where he worked as a Financial Planner for a short time before transitioning into the excavation field. Bob worked as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator and eventually moved into the Project Superintendent role as a member of Local 302, where he was well known and highly respected in the excavation industry.
Bob and Dixie enjoyed travelling in their RV.
In 2017 Bob and Dixie moved back to the Treasure Valley area and settled into their new home in Nampa. He enjoyed reconnecting with aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends as well as the new friends and neighbors they were able to meet.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruth, his sister JoAnne and other family members. He is survived by his brother Gordon. He is also survived by his wife Dixie and his children, Rachael, Ron, Renae, Rex, David and Donna. He has 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. There are also so many others that he cherished and lovingly called his friends, children, and grandchildren.
