Robert “Jim” Sullivan, Jr. 69, of Centralia, passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
He was born December 21, 1949 in East St. Louis, the son of Robert J. Sullivan, Sr. and Virginia (Mays) Sullivan Cook.
He married Tawani (McElfresh) Chapman in May of 1970 and they later divorced. Jim later married Elizabeth”Beth” Phelps and she survives in Centralia.
In addition to his wife, Beth Phelps of Centralia, he is also survived by his daughter: Suzette Ramsey and husband Rusty of Memphis, TN; a granddaughter: Maranda Aguiniga of Berwyn, IL; five brothers and a sister: Clint Cook of Shiloh,IL, John Cook of San Bernardino, California, Carla Cook of Columbia, Kentucky, Joe Cook of Texas, Earl “Chip” Cook of Columbia, KY and Marty Cook of Arbuckle, CA; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Sullivan, Sr. and Virginia Cook and a sister: Paula “Jean” Hubbard.
Jim served two tours in Vietnam in the U.S. Marine Corps. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and his dogs. He was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s Fan.
