Robert James “Bob” Jaecques, 81, of Cairo, MO, passed away on October 17, 2021, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. Bob was born August 12, 1940, in Moline IL to Everett and Emma (La Peere) Jaecques.

He graduated from Erie, IL High School in 1958. He was a welder for Roy E. Roth Factory right out of high school. In 1962, he moved to Missouri and worked at Apco Service Station in Salisbury, MO. In 1966, he started working at Braymer Implement Co. in Moberly, MO. A couple of years later, Bob and his partner, Bill Hughes, bought Braymer Implement Co. and re-named it B&B Equipment Company. He was a salesman and then a service manager at Moberly Motor Co. and a service manager at A.B. Kelly Motors. In 1992, he built a shop at home and opened Jaecques Repair Shop, where he could fix just about anything. He worked there until the week before his passing.

Bob married Carol Tiffany on July 31, 1960, in Erie IL and she survives in the home. Also, surviving are his daughters, Melia Cate and husband Steve, Teresa McCollum and husband Kerry; four grandchildren, Elise Cate, Amanda Koehn, Alex McCollum, and Lucas McCollum; sister Arlene Hudson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters-in-law, Richard and Margaret Jaecques, Eugene and Hazel Jaecques, brother-in-law Duane Hudson, and son-in-law Richie Vallandingham.

Bob will be remembered for many things. The most important thing will be his love for his family. He had a great smile and laugh and loved to tell a good story. He was a friend to everyone he met and would help anyone in need. Bob and Carol lived on their farm in Cairo for 48 years where they raised crops and cattle. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
