Robert James Biggerstaff, 72

Robert James Biggerstaff, 72, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2023 in Alamogordo.  He was born on November 15, 1950 in Albuquerque, NM to Lewis McCormick and Martha Caroline (Miller) Biggerstaff.   At his side were his brother William Biggerstaff and wife Catalina. 

Robert Attended Highland High School in Albuquerque and graduated class of 1968.  He worked as an apprentice in his father’s cabinet shop after graduation. His hobbies were camping, hunting and fishing with his family and friends. 

In June of 1970 Robert enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and served on the carrier CV59 U.S.S. Forrestal and served a tour in Okinawa until his Honorable discharge in June 1974.  Upon his return to civilian life in Albuquerque he went back to his father’s cabinet shop as a cabinet maker and installer.  After moving to Alamogordo in 2010 he became an occasional vendor at Southern NM gun shows.

Robert is survived by his older brother William L. Biggerstaff and wife Catalina of Alamogordo; nephew, Robert L. Biggerstaff and wife Denise Bogue of Farmington, NM; niece, Christine Biggerstaff Balderrama, husband Frederick and family of Alamogordo; niece Kimberly Farley, husband Tyler and family of Bristow VA.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lewis M. and Martha C. Biggerstaff.
