Robert J. Taylor, age 79 of Midland went to see his Savior on November 6, 2014, at the Toni and Trish House.
Bob was born the only child of John R. and Louise (Hagemeyer) Taylor in Toledo, Ohio on January 14, 1935. He attended Riverside School, Woodward High School, and the University of Toledo where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
Bob worked as a pharmacist for 47 years, retiring in 2004 from Rite Aid Pharmacy. He enjoyed coin and stamp collecting, football, baseball, and basketball but especially watching U of M football and the Detroit Tigers and cheering for his grandchildren. Bob was a member of the Kappa Psi, Rho Chi, the Lutheran Men’s League, and Via de Cristo.
Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, the former Joanne R. Pietras whom he married on February 7, 1959, in Toledo, Ohio; his children, Beth (Jess) Gonzalez of Austin, Texas, Brad (Mary) Taylor of Atlanta, Georgia, Brian (Tracy) Taylor of Midland; four beloved grandchildren, Kelsey, Laura, Kyle, and Robert; brother in law Paul Wood of Troy, MI; four nieces and 2 great nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Kathleen Wood.
