Robert J. “”Bob”” Miller 87, formerly of Huntington now Rotonda West, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on August 31, 2012. He was born on April 12, 1925 in South Whitley, IN the son of Ellis J. Miller and Sarah (Walpole) Miller. Mr. Miller married Jean R. (Schlosser) Miller on June 8, 1947 in Garrett, IN. She preceded him in death on January 29, 2005.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother William (Bill) Miller.Mr. Miller graduated from South Whitley High School in 1943. He served his country during WWII flying 33 combat missions as a bombardier on a B17 Flying Fortress with the 8th Air Force, 94th Bomb Group, 410th Squadron based in England. He was awarded the Oak Leaf Cluster for meritorious achievement. Following his service in the air force, he enrolled in Butler University Pharmacy School and was a member of Lambda Chi Fraternity.

Bob and his wife Jean owned “”Bob Miller Pharmacy”” in Huntington for 30 years before retiring to Florida where he continued to work part-time as a pharmacist until March 2011. Always active, he was a member of the Masonic Temple, the Mizpah Shrine, and the Toastmasters club. He enjoyed many hobbies including raising hunting dogs, restoring vintage cars, and ball room dancing. He and his wife, Jean, were members of the Starlight, Lamplighters, and Gayla Dance Clubs.

They were recipients of several dance awards at the International Ballroom Dance Competitions in Chicago, IL.Survivors include his companion, Carol McCormack, Rotunda West, Florida; one daughter, Deborah J Miller, Indianapolis; three sons Robert J (Debra) Huntington; Jeffrey P., Philadelphia, PA.; Scott A. (Deborah), Huntington; one brother, Max Miller (Carole) of Summerfield, Florida: 6 grandchildren, Rachael Harshman (Chad) Roanoke, IN.; Jerid Miller (Jennifer) Louisville, KY.; Jessica Markley (Greg) Carol Stream, IL., and Sarah Miller, Huntington; Dylan and Stephanie Miller, Huntington. 6 great-grandchildren, Matt Guhl, Drew and Kate Harshman, August and Kilian Miller, and Sam Markley.
