Robert J. Foley, Sr., 59, of Upton, died early Sunday, February 27, 2005, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after a long and courageous battle with melanoma.
Mr. Foley was born in Worcester, a son of the late John F. and Margaret (Phillips) Foley. He grew up in Worcester, where he was a 1964 graduate of North High School, and had lived in Upton since 1972. Beginning his career with the former Riley Stoker in 1967, he was also a 1974 graduate of Worcester Junior College and a 1979 graduate of Central New England College of Technology, earning a degree in mechanical engineering. He served with Company B, 3rd Battalion, 1st Engineer Training Brigade of the National Guard for several years.
A communicant of Holy Angels Parish, he was a softball coach for the Upton Youth Club in the early 1980s.
In addition to his wife of 35 years; he leaves one son, Robert J. Foley, Jr.
