Robert “Bob” “Sonny” Craffey of Plymouth, died peacefully on October 16, 2021. He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Liz” Craffey; loving father of the late Sean Craffey, Elizabeth O’Doherty & her husband Edward, Robert Craffey, Jr. & his wife Lori, Kevin Craffey & his wife Joanne, Keith Craffey & his wife Lori, and Kathleen Slack & her husband Brad; cherished grandfather of fifteen adoring grandchildren and two loving great grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Arthur Craffey, Carolyn Irvine, Elaine Flanagan, Jeannie Dennehy, Joanie Craffey and Richard Craffey and the late Dorothy Toombs, Margaret Renaud, Rita Seyller, William, George, John, Lawrence, and Gerald Craffey. He was the treasured brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many here and abroad. Bob was born in Boston to the late George and Dorothy Craffey. He enlisted in the Navy to serve his country the day after Christmas 1951. He loved the military lifestyle and earned certifications in aviation electronics. He was honorably discharged on July 16, 1955, also served in the Army reserves from April 1975 to May of 1977. He had a rewarding career as a Local 67, Union Carpenter and was proud of the projects he accomplished. He loved being with people and enjoyed a robust debate. He was delighted by visits from his grandchildren. Bob and his wife took annual trips to their home in Ireland where they were surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed listening to music, singing, dancing, playing cards, and vacationing. Most of all Bob enjoyed spending time with those he loved. His wit, character and love will always be remembered.
