Robert Henry Holmes, 82, of Youngsville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Monday morning, December 26, 2022.
He was born in Wake County son of the late Katie Mae Wall Holmes and Henry Haywood Holmes.
Mr. Holmes is survived by his wife of 62 years; Janie Cash Holmes, daughters; Tammy Wooten and husband Mike of Wendell and Janice Mitchell of Youngsville, his son; Allen Holmes and wife Jill of Youngsville, grandchildren; Michelle Harris (Tim), Tamara Feiler (Jared), Evan Mitchell, Ally Holmes and Will Holmes, great grandchildren; Dawson and Ruby Harris.
Mr. Holmes lived in Franklin County for most of his life. He had a passion for his family, and watching and supporting his grandchildren whether it be at Dance Recitals, Volleyball, Baseball or Basketball games. He was known for his large vegetable gardens every summer. He loved to spend time at White Lake with family and friends over the last 40 years. Mr. Holmes was retired from Brinks Inc. after 37 years, and he was a retired tobacco farmer. He loved going to church and the men in his Sunday School Class.
