Robert Harris Culver, 96, of Middletown, CT, formerly of Boston, MA, husband of Olga (von Grotten) Culver for sixty-eight years, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Eugene and Mazie (Smith) Culver.
Robert was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army as a 1st Lieutenant. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering in 1938 and an MS in Engineering in 1948 from the University of Florida and went on to earn a PhD in Environmental Engineering from Harvard University in 1955. He worked around the world to provide clean water.
Along with his wife, Robert is survived by two daughters, Alexandra Adelstein of Middletown and E. Louise Culver of Merion Station, PA; a sister Dorothy Benson of GA, three nieces, one nephew and four grandchildren, Rachel Adelstein, Katharine Adelstein, Nathaniel Hurwitz and Ethan Hurwitz.
He was predeceased by his brother, James Culver.
