Robert Harris “Bob” Saxon, 53, of Buckingham, Virginia departed this life on November 25, 2013. He is survived by his children Mary Catherine “Katie” Bryant (Ben) and Robert H. Saxon, Jr., his mother Helen Pence Saxon, brother Dr. Walter E. “Wes” Saxon, Jr., sister Martha Neal Martin (Randy), granddaughters Abigail and Eva Bryant, one uncle, many cousins, a niece, 6 nephews and special friends, Bobby Bryan and Tony Jamerson. He was predeceased by his father W. Edward Saxon and brother Richard “Dick” Saxon.
Bob worked with his father at Saxon Oil Company for 22 years, but his love was farming and especially his Angus cattle.
He believed in giving back to Buckingham and served in the Volunteer Rescue Squad as an EMT. He was a Ruritan and its current (and former) president. He served as an elder of Maysville Presbyterian Church. He was a past director of Buckingham County Farm Bureau and was a member of the Buckingham Cattlemen’s Association.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to those who helped Bob maintain his farm and cattle, carry him to doctor appointments and many other acts of kindness during his extended illnesses.
