Robert H. Stuart, 84, Anderson, passed away November 28, 2008 at the home of his daughter in Camden, South Carolina after an extended illness.

He was born May 6, 1924 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Anderson all of his life. He was a 1943 Anderson High School graduate.

Bob served his country in the US Navy during WWII. He retired as an engineer from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 43 years of service, and was the Assistant Fire Chief in Edgewood for 40 years.

Bob was an enthusiast of Radio Control Airplanes. He was a member of two clubs in Anderson, and the A.M.A Organization in Muncie.

He is survived by his wife, Paulina “Polly” Lockwood Stuart; children, Jan S. & husband P. William Foust of Camden, South Carolina and Stephen R. & wife Deborah A. Stuart of Portage; sister, Martha Anne Gittings of San Diego, California; grandson, Sean C. Stuart of Anderson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace P. and Mary Catherine Vestal Stuart; sister, Mary Frances Pettigrew and brother, Richard J. Stuart.
