Robert H. “Bob” Pearson, of Anderson, passed away on May 10th, 2013 at his residence. He was born on July 7, 1923 in Wabash County, Indiana and resided most of his life in Anderson. Bob graduated in 1940 from Converse High School and in 1952 from Purdue/Indiana University with a degree in accounting.
He served his country in the Army during World War II. Bob and his wife, Betty shared their lives with their beloved shelties, Penny, Joy, Cricket and Angel. He is a retired Data Processor for Guide Lamp Division of General Motors. From Sept. 1988 – 1993, he was a Volunteer bookkeeper with 8, 268 hours.
He was in the Exchange Club, RSVP with over 20 years of volunteer work having over 20, 000 hours. He was recognized as the 1996 Volunteer of the Year. He loved IU Basketball and has a piece of the Assembly Hall Floor at his home. Bob is survived by his loving spouse of 64 years, wife, Betty Jo Ballinger Pearson of Anderson, IN, son, Bruce Mary Sue Pearson of Dayton, OH, grandson, Andrew Pearson, and granddaughter, Megan Pearson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Frantz Pearson, father, Lemoyne Pearson, and sister, Betty Albaugh.
