After 86 years of life filled with love, great compassion and faith, our loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Robert H. McCoy, of Anderson, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 27, 2005 at Hoosier Village of Indianapolis. He was born December 9, 1918 in Crossville, Tennessee, and resided in Anderson, Indiana.
He was an Anderson resident for 60 years. He was a man of honor with a strong work ethic and unselfish devotion to his wife and family. He was lovable, exuberant, and known for his sense of humor and his integrity. As an avid gardener, he grew prize roses and loved nature. In addition he enjoyed re-finishing furniture. He was a naturalist and enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.
His ancestors fought in the Revolutionary War after arriving from County Limerick, Ireland. In every sense of the word, he was the Real McCoy. He retired from Delco Remy Division of General Motors as a Master Machine Builder/Tool Maker. He was an active member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church and was involved in the building of the church. He was a believer in the Ten Commandments and the Golden Rule.
He is survived by his wife whom he married March 5, 1938: Pauline Robbins McCoy. Two Daughters: Cora N. & husband Ervin Berlinger of Carmel. Janis R. & husband Thomas Bray of Orland Park, Illinois.
Four Granddaughters: Pamela & husband James Meng, Allison & husband Keith Oswalt, Beth Ann Bray and Susan & husband Thomas Staab. Great Grandchildren: Valerie, Ashleigh, Thomas, Mitchell, Austin, Emily, Reis Robert and Mathew. Step Grandchildren: Sheri, Lori, Lisa and Betsy. Several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Hoosier Village of Indianapolis for their loving care.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Wright & Nellie Bramlett McCoy. Six brothers and two sisters.
