Robert “Bob” H. Faris, 79, formerly of Tecumseh, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at Holmes Lake Rehabilitation Care Center in Lincoln, NE. Bob was born to Robert and Ethel (Derr) Faris on December 8, 1934 at Tecumseh, NE. Bob grew up at Tecumseh and graduated from Tecumseh High School with the Class of 1952. He was united in marriage to Janice Mathis on July 24, 1955. They spent many years farming on the home place, until they moved to Lincoln in 2001. He struggled for his life, after he fought complications from a severe stroke he suffered at the home place in Tecumseh on November 27, 2013. Bob was a private pilot for a number of years.
Survivors include his wife, Janice (Mathis) Faris; daughters, Laurie McPherrin-Harms and husband, Steve, Julie Gipson and husband, Blake all of Lincoln; grandchildren, Matthew Faris, Courtney Lockridge, Whitney Harms, Bailey Huwa, Jacob Gipson, Levi Gipson; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Tim Faris; and son-in-law, Spencer McPherrin.
