Robert “Bob” Grammer of Lampasas, TX passed from this life on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the age of 91.

Robert Grammer was born to Dexter Reagan Grammer and Connie Dee Cora (Nichols) Grammer on August 24, 1927. He was one of 14 children. He married Didgie Deverne Coulter on April 24, 1948 and together they raised three children, whom they adored. He served our country in the United States Army and fought in the Korean War. Upon completion of his military service, he came home to Texas and worked primarily in road construction all over the state.

A humble man, Bob was most proud of his family, which he led with quiet strength and endless patience. It was his habit to put everyone before himself, often choosing to eat last to ensure his family was satisfied first. He loved them all fiercely, and they each adored him in return. Upon becoming a grandfather, he would forever be known and referred to as Pepe, which often elicited chuckles from non-family members but never failed to bring a wide grin to his face when called upon by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Pepe had a talent for making people feel special. There was a unique connection with every person he loved, often coupled with a nickname specific to them and an inside joke they could always share a laugh over. It is this connection and shared intimacy that his friends and family will miss most. It is also the experience of such a connection and shared intimacy that was his legacy, his gift to the world, the one piece of him that will live on forever in every person ever touched by his kindness.

Bob is survived by his daughters, Andra Mae Jacoby and Linda Susan Grammer; his sisters, Dorothy Kinsey and Mary Ackler; his brother, Hubert Grammer; ten grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Didgie Deverne Grammer; his son, Bobby Frank Grammer; his sons-in-law, Lester Hilmar Jacoby and Kenneth Craig Claro; his grandsons, Bobby Frank Swan and Kelly Scott Jacoby; his parents, Dexter and Connie Grammer; and his siblings, Bernice Ray Grammer, Otis Earnest Grammer, Josie Faye Gage, Frances Elwick Wilson, James Willard Grammer, Dexter Reagan Grammer, Glen Eugene Grammer, Don Ray Grammer, Barbara Nell Worrell, and Bill Grammer.
