Robert George Stewart, 27, passed away unexpectedly November 24, 2012 in Canon City, CO. He was born May 19, 1985 in Phoenix, AZ to Dwayne M. and Mary Jo (Case) Stewart. Robert was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was employed with the Colorado Department of Corrections, and was on the contra-ban committee for the DOC. He was also a member of the DOC Emergency Response Team. Robert was also an Evit Firefighter. Robert was an AMAZING father, and outstanding husband, and an awesome brother and son who always set great examples of how he would want his loved ones to be. He was always supportive, loving, and caring. A very funny and outgoing person, Robert had a way of making people happy when they were upset. He was always very professional and honest. He was also very talented at drawing and art work. He loved basketball and his favorite team was the Phoenix Suns. Robert is survived by his wife, Karissa Grindstaff-Stewart; sons, Blake Stewart, Landon Stewart, and baby on the way Logan Stewart; mother, Mary Joe Case; and siblings, Wade (Denise), Michael, Dan (Angela), Scott (Tory), T.J., Dina, Patti (Dan), Christine, and Sandy (Jim). He is also survived by mother-in-law, Kyla Porter; brothers-in-law, Melvin (Vanessa), Mike (Maria), Mark (Karen), Marty, and Matt; grandmothers, Sandy and Dorothy; special nephew, Tanner Bilbey; close friends who became family, Lacy & Chad, Rian & Kacey, Brian, Ashley, Andrea, Audra Hopkins, Josh Sanders, and Dan Briggs; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and DOC friends.
