Mr. Robert Gene Gross, of Indianapolis, passed away on the morning of Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at his residence. He was 71. Robert was born July 22, 1948 in Indianapolis a son of the late Thea Gross and Dora (Hicks) Butrum.

Robert attended Arsenal Technical High School and was the owner-operator of Brickyard Trucking in Indianapolis retiring in 2013.

Robert loved music and played the guitar and sang in local bands including the Ralph Mullins Band and Country Proud. He particularly liked Outlaw Country especially Waylon Jennings. Robert also enjoyed riding his Harley, reading and watching Westerns. He dearly loved his family and having them around and was always willing to help others.

Robert is survived by his children, Sherie (Lon) Bolen, Robert D. Gross, Michelle Payne and Waylon (Shana) Gross; 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, his step-mother, Wanda Gross; his sisters, Juanita Gann and Sharon Gross and a brother, Steve Gross as well as many nieces and nephews, beloved cousins and friends.
