Robert Gaylord Knight, 98, of Newnan, widower of Mary King Knight, died August 25, 2018, at Wesley Woods of Newnan. Born in Grand Island, NB, on August 20, 1920, he was a son of the late Ward Edward and Alice Irene Raymond Knight. He was a US Army Veteran, having served from 1939-1945, during World War II in the Second Armor Division and obtained the rank of Sargent. Mr. Knight was retired from Georgia Power where he worked from 1948-1982. He was a member of First Christian Church in Clayton, GA for over thirty years and had formerly been a member of the First Christian Church of Newnan for over thirty years.
Survivors include two children, Bonnie Campion and husband Tim of Newnan and Robert Knight and wife Isa of Miami, FL; three grandchildren, Britton Campion, Trenton Knight and Kyle Knight; a brother; and two sisters.
