Robert G. (Bob) Whited, 89, of Anderson, passed away on December 26, 2020, at Community Hospital Anderson.
He was born on July 3, 1931, in Gary, Indiana, and resided most of his life in Anderson. Bob served his country in the United States Air Force and then graduated from Purdue University. He retired as a supervisor for Delco-Remy Division of General Motors. He was an avid motorcycle rider and was a member of the local chapter of the Gold Wing Road Riders. Bob also was a member of the American Legion, was a local commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America where he also taught canoeing, enjoyed bowling, was a talented woodworker, and walked daily at Shady Side Park.
Bob is survived by his loving children, Lori Bemish, Danny Whited, and Toni (Dan) Nottingham; grandchildren, Kevin Sheets and Stephen (Adrienne) Evans; and great-grandchildren; Dayne Patton, Reece Sheets, and Elise and Nathan Evans. Also surviving is his sister, Sue Stoms; mother of his children, Barbara Boys; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gorman and Katherine Whited; brothers, John and James Whited; loving companion and copilot in life and death; Carol Tumulty; son, Robert J. Whited; granddaughter, Jessica Sheets; and son-in-law, John Bemish.
