Robert “Bob” George Miller, born March 13, 1944, to Fred and Lula Miller at their farm home in Rock Co.
By the time Bob was a senior in high school his heart was stolen by a younger gal with deep dimples and a pretty smile. Linda (Harnack) and Bob were married two years later on September 12, 1964. Shortly after they got married, Bob served in the National Guard for eight years while also running a carpet business and machine shop during those years. As if that wasn’t a busy enough time, these were also the years that their first three children Scott, Janet and Mark were born in Monroe, Wisconsin. In 1976 work brought Bob and Linda to Illinois. They settled in Geneva, IL where their fourth child Brenda was born.
Bob spent his adult years working as a commodity broker and futures trader. He eventually started his own business with his two sons and made it a family affair. Bob has always loved working.
The thing in life that made Bob the most proud is the day he became known as Grandad. He loved to work on projects with each grandkid and would share his knowledge and wisdom along the way. Serving his grandchildren and together with Linda attending their special events were very high priorities. These grandkids were his pride and joy.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandad, and friend. He left a wonderful legacy of his love for Jesus and his love for others. He would want everyone to find hope in the promise of Eternal Life that he is enjoying now.
Bob is survived by his wife Linda Miller; son Scott (Jeanette) Miller; grandchildren Annika, Talley, and Sarah (Jonah) Scott; great grandson Graham; daughter Janet (Sean) Gallagher; grandchildren Sarah and Jonah (Hannah); great granddaughter Fiona; son Mark (Beth) Miller; grandchildren Alana, Hannah, Riley, and Emery; daughter Brenda (Ryan) Saul; grandchildren Charlie, Henry, and Sadie. He is also survived by his brother Bill Miller.
Bob is predeceased by parents Fred and Lula Miller, sister Florence Fox, and brother Jim Miller.
