Robert Gerald Lesher,77, of Mosquito Valley, died Thursday, November 17 at the Williamsport Home.
Born May 1, 1934 in Northumberland, he was the son of Gerald and Violet Probst Lesher.
He was a 1952 graduate of South Williamsport High School, a 1957 graduate of Lycoming College, received his Master’s Degree in Education from Bucknell University in 1960. Bob was a teacher and principal in the South Williamsport Area School District for 30 years. He also worked with youth musical groups in the district.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman with a special talent for hunting and turkey calling. He enjoyed his family vacations to Beaver Lake, Ontario, Canada for many years.
Surviving are his wife Shirley G. (Field) Lesher, with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage on Sept. 11, four children Wenda Lockcuff of Cogan Station, Laurie (Kip) Lockcuff of Oviedo, FL, Amy (Charles) Richardson of Winter Park, Fl, and Gregory Robert (Julia) Lesher of Allen, TX, 12 grandchildren Alissa, Katie, Stephanie, Garrett, Shannon, Kayla, Kara, Marlena, Ben, Zachary, Brett, and Kiley, two great grandchildren Kalyn and Kai, a sister June Kirkendall of Williamsport, and numerous nieces and nephews.
