NEW HARTFORD –KOETHER – Robert G. Koether, 93, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017. He was the loving husband of Maxine (Bartley) Koether for 69 years. Born September 8, 1924 in Torrington; the son of the late Gustave and Anna (Roselieb) Koether. Robert served in the Army Air Corps. He was a Tool & Die Maker, and in retirement enjoyed spending time with his wife & family. He also enjoyed golfing, and driving for Dattco, formerly County Motors. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael Koether and wife Donna of New Hartford; son-in-law, Frank Bares of New Hartford; five grandchildren, Justin Koether and wife Mary Beth of New Hartford, Michlyn Petrosini and husband Justin of New Jersey, Katelyn Koether of New Hartford, Ryan Bares of Torrington and Devon Bares and wife Katherine of New Hartford; four great grandchildren, Justin Koether, Jr., Carolina Koether, of New Hartford, Charlotte “Charlie” Petrosini and Hadley Petrosini, both of New Jersey; and another great grandchild on the way. He was predeceased by his children, Deborah Bares and David Koether; and his sister and her husband, Mildred and Paul Gleeson.
