Robert Fitzsimons, age 87 of Stratford and husband to the late Margaret Krasenics Fitzsimons, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Bridgeport Hospital. Born in Bridgeport on December 1, 1927, he was the son of the late Bernard and Mary Bernardi Fitzsimons. Robert served with pride and honor in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Prior to his retirement, he was an aviation engineer for Sikorsky Aircraft. A member of the Fairfield Prep Latin Scholars, he was also an avid football enthusiast coaching Pop Warner football for the Stratford Lions for over 30 years. He will deeply missed by family and friends.
He is survived by his children; Robert P. Fitzsimons, Jr. (Cathy), Mary Ellen Morris, Kathleen A. Babcock (George) and Kevin T. Fitzsimons (Lee); cherished grandchildren, Jessica and Sean Morris, Valerie and Justin Babcock, Brendon and Matthew Fitzsimons and many loving family members.
