     Robert F. “Stew” Stewart, 82, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, at his residence in Muncie.  He was born January 6, 1928, in Muncie, attended Forest Park Elementary, Wilson Junior High, graduated from Muncie Central High School., and attended IvyTechBusinessCollege.

     While at Muncie Central he was a quarterback for the football team, and at one time was a Golden Glove Boxer.

     Mr. Stewart served in the Army during the Korean War, and then the  National Guard.

     He was formerly employed at American Wire, Floyd Johnson Paint Company and Stew’s Bar.

     He was a lifetime member of the VFW and the Eagles Lodge.

     Surviving are four children, Evangelist Terry Wyninger, (husband, Tom), Rick Stewart, (wife, Donna), Deborah Gibson, and Allen Stewart, (wife, Judy);  four brothers, Charlie Stewart, (wife, Nancy), Bill Stewart, (wife, Marsha), Tony Stewart, (wife, Marsha, and Clifford “Butch” Stewart;  twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren;  and several nieces and nephews.

     He was preceded in death by his wife, Vara Stewart; his son, Bobby Gene Stewart; his father, William Ira Stewart; his mother, Mildred Moore Stewart Holmes; and two brothers, Fred Stewart and Guy Holmes; and a granddaughter, Tracey Wyninger.
